Gnarly Joe® is truly terrible. As an independent brand that’s passionate about delivering the highest quality hair, skin and beard care (using natural ingredients, don’t forget), we really should spend some time in clamouring for your attention. Not doing any advertising or promotion really is a heinous and unforgivable crime for any brand attempting to compete in the harsh and unremitting battle for market share.
We should constantly be splashing ourselves shamelessly across social media channels, littering your feed and interrupting your doom-scrolling at every opportunity. But as usual, we’re too busy making the products and getting them shipped out. It’s the classic small business mantra of being ‘too busy working in the business to work on it’.
Fortunately, there are times when we don’t have to do our own shouting. Occasionally, a well-meaning soul ambles across the foreground and does it for us. And today, we thank Dr. Ahmad Moussa (FCRS), at The Wimpole Hair Clinic for doing just that.
A kindly customer alerted us to an article published earlier this year, that mentions Gnarly Joe®, with regards to attempting to prevent Hair Loss in Men. The articles reads:
“If you are looking for the best hair loss shampoo for men, you are probably one of the 85% of men who experience male pattern baldness by the age of 50. Since hair loss is more common in men than in women, what you need is a specifically designed formula that addresses male hair growth needs.”
So far, so good. They continue:
“Fortunately, in a sea of ineffective hair care products, there are also some good and scientifically supported options when it comes to shampoos for hair loss men can try. They can help slow down male hair loss and even stimulate hair growth, such as formulas containing Minoxidil or the best rosemary oil for hair growth. This article will tell you all you need to know about:
• Whether hair loss shampoos work for men.
• The best hair loss shampoo for men
• What to avoid when choosing a shampoo for hair loss men can safely use
• The most efficient hair loss treatments for men”
But that’s all the generic preamble. Let’s get to the good stuff, where they mention Gnarly Joe®:
"{Gnarly Joe®} formulation is created especially for men’s damaged hair. It contains ingredients that can not only nourish it but also strengthen hair by making it more stress-resistant. Argan oil is known to regulate your natural sebum production and moisturise it. Moreover, the shea butter can help soften and regenerate your hair and scalp and increase strand elasticity [see independent research links reproduced below]. While this shampoo does not curb a specific form of male alopecia, it helps prevent dry, brittle hair that breaks off easily. Over time, this keeps your mane fuller and more volumised, making any hair thinning you may be experiencing appear less visible”.
We thought it would be a good idea to (reluctantly and slightly shyly) draw your attention to The Wimpole Clinic article, as it’s packed with loads of well-researched links and independent studies, which will help any men who are concerned about Hair Loss, and who may be looking to do whatever they can to keep their hair. And thankfully, this is done without all the hyperbole, empty-promises and frankly, the BS that some products will claim, in a desperate bid to part you from your hard-earned cash.
In particular, the pleasing theme that we saw throughout the article, was a wealth of information that supports our passion for using natural ingredients. We won’t go on about that here, because it could come dangerously close to promoting ourselves (which we definitely haven’t got the time for).
Instead, we'll finish by saying that if you’re interested, you can buy our 100% Natural African Black Hair Shampoo >HERE<, plus our Leave-In 4-in-1 Hair Conditioner >HERE<, and our new 4-In-One Hair Spray with Caffeine >HERE<
Finally, a caveat: There is no affiliation or relationship between Gnarly Joe® and The Wimpole Clinic, nor is there any financial or promotional incentive to either party for these links.
There. I think that covers it. Right, let’s get back to shipping some Hair Care Products. In the meantime, here's some further bedtime reading for you, baldy (told you we were bad at advertising):
