This 2-in-1 Acne & Spot-Fighting Exfoliating and Cleansing Face Scrub, is scented with Spearmint and Tea Tree plant oils, which provides a cooling, refreshing and invigorating aroma which will awaken your senses.

Spearmint: This is a sweeter and subtler version of Peppermint. Joe's concentrated Spearmint essential plant oil, is steam-distilled from the spiked leaves of the Mentha Spicata plant.

Tea Tree: This oil is distilled from the Melaleuca Alternifolia tree, which is indigenous to Australia. It has a sharp and invigorating scent, and is useful for problem skin, such as the treatment of blemishes, spots and acne. It also possesses natural antibacterial qualities.

Joe recommends using this wash twice a week. However, it's mild enough to use more often, and every day if you wish. Even though this is a mild and gentle formula, it's powerful and highly-concentrated: You won't need to use much, and a little will go a long way (which means that this 100ml bottle will last a long time).

First, shake the bottle vigorously, to ensure that the powdered Jojoba grains haven't settled. Wet your face with tepid water. Pour just a small (five to ten pence-piece-sized), dollop into your palm. Rub your palms together and then distribute the exfoliating wash around your face evenly, to form a rich lather. Now use your fingertips to work the exfoliating wash (and Jojoba grains), into your skin. Massage your face gently for two minutes. This will allow the finely-powdered grains to gently peel away old, dead skin, revealing fresh new skin underneath.

Take care around your eyes to ensure that grains do not enter. If grains get into your eyes, wash out immediately. Finally, rinse the wash off throughly with warm water, making sure that all traces of grains have been removed. Gently pat your face dry with a clean towel.

For best results, apply a few drops of any Gnarly Joe® Anti-Ageing Moisturiser Serum or Face Cream. This will introduce hydrating and nourishing plant oils into your skin. Tip: This wash works particularly well with Joe's Revitalising Cream.

Some facial exfoliants contain pumice grains, or crushed seeds, which have small, sharp edges. These can damage your face and leave microscopic tears on your skin, especially in sensitive areas around the eyes, where your skin is thinnest and more prone to wrinkling. Other exfoliating products contain micro-beads, which are essentially small particles of hard, rounded plastic. These get washed into our oceans after use, and are harmful to marine life. That's why Joe only uses Jojoba grains to exfoliate skin gently, and naturally.

Using powdered and hydrogenated Jojoba grains means that Gnarly Joe® Exfoliating Face Wash & Scrub is biodegradable, better for our environment, and it provides a much kinder exfoliating action; gently lifting dead skin cells as you wash, without causing damage to your skin.

Once the old skin is lifted, you can maximise the effect of the new skin, by nourishing it immediately with your favourite face cream or serum.
